Kody lights are the brightest and most durable on the market providing safety and peace of mind when using your bike rack.
This light is our medium sized light set which uses two brake, turn and tail lights for independent left and right hand signals. Each light fixture is 12 to 13" wide and provides bright, clear and visible signaling. The lights are mounted to our custom heavy duty bracket for mounting to your bike rack. The total width of the lights and bracket is just under 27" wide.
The rugged, highly visible Kody Technologies dual LED Rack Lights creates eye-catching tail, brake, and turn signals. The light integrates cleanly on your rack and uses standard 4-pin or 7-blade trailer connector for easy installation.
This bike rack light is designed specifically for the RockyMounts GuideRail and AfterParty bike racks. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding your application.

Be sure to check out our other RockyMounts Bike Rack Lights. This size is available with built-in reverse lights — choose "13" Lights with Built In Reverse" and the seven blade connector. We also make a Small (a single 16" bar) and a Large (two 16" lights). Not sure what your vehicle supports? See what works on your vehicle.
Pivoting Light
This light uses our friction hinge pivot design. The pivot allows you to adjust the position of the light so it can be seen in both the up or stored position as well as the down or bike loaded position. To position the light just push or pull the light into the desired position. For more information about Pivoting lights please check out our Pivoting FAQ. The friction hinge pivot can have issues staying in position when used in combination with our license plate holder, also discussed in the FAQ. Please reach out to discuss.
Cable Lengths
We provide three cable length options. The cable lengths include Short (70"), Long (112") and Extra Long (160"). The Short cable will work in most applications using a standard bike rack with up to four bike trays. Please see our FAQ page for information regarding how to select the right cable length for your rack set up.
Vehicle Connections
For this option, choose between a standard four pin and a standard seven blade connectors. The four pin connection powers tail lights (including plate lights if added), turn signals and brake lights. Upgrading to the seven blade option adds a heavier duty cable, a seven pin connector which can power reverse lights and a license plate light connector (we call it plate ready). Choose the correct connection to eliminate the need for adapters and prepare for future upgrades. Seven blade is required for reverse lights.
License Plates
We have four options for plate holders and a plate light. Please see the list below to understand each option.
No Plate Accessory: I just want my light and nothing to do with any license plate holders.
Plate Light Ready: Adds a plate light electrical connection to the main cable, ready for a future plate light upgrade. No plate holder is included with this option. This option is included at no extra cost with the seven blade connection, which already carries the plate light connector.
Plate Holder - No Light: Plate holder with no electrical connection or light. This includes a bracket mounted to the main light which provides a license plate mounting location and plate mount hardware.
Plate Holder with Light: Plate holder with plate light. This includes the plate holder mentioned above as well as a second bracket to install the plate light, integrated cable wiring and the plate light.
Plate Holder Caution – If the plate holder sits above your vehicle's height when stored, it can catch wind and cause the friction hinge to shift over time. Always ensure your rack is lower than your vehicle to prevent this issue.
Light Fixture Options (Brake/Tail/Turn Lights)
We offer three different medium sized light fixture options;
- 12" Basic brake/turn/tail light, with a red lens
- 13" Basic brake/turn/tail light with built in reverse, red lens for signals and white lens for reverse lights.
Each light option is very bright and guarantee you're seen on the road. Reverse light requires a seven blade trailer connector.
Configuration and Pricing Note: The total light set up pricing will not populate or update until you have made a selection for all options. Once the selections are completed and the price is updated you can adjust your selections one at a time to see how the price varies.

Reviews
I wish I had bought the 16" dual light. Compare the photos carefully before you decide. I had thought the only difference was length, but the pivot of the 12" raises the bar higher than the bike platforms on my AfterParty. It does not look as nice as the 16" and means I have to lift my rather heavy bikes even higher. Since it is mounted and was used, I will not try to return, but make sure you order what you want.
The lights itself is extremely well made and very bright. Works fine with my 2021 Ford van.
Best products in the segment and the best money spent on my rack setup. Absolute peace of mind. The lights and brackets are such good quality. Instructions perfect. And most importantly, customers service is unbeatable. John is a stand up guy! Nothing but praise and I’d recommend anyone consider their products!
