Kody Lights for Thule Bike Racks

Which Thule rack do you have?

•  T2 Pro XTR is sold as separate 2" and 1.25" models. Two bikes as standard, four with the add-on — which fits the 2" version only.

•  T2 Classic is the previous generation. Thule has moved on from it, but plenty are still in service and we still make lights for them. The 2" version takes an add-on; the 1.25" version is a two-bike rack with no expansion.

• EasyFold XT 2 is the folding rack. Two bikes, and it doesn't expand.

Not sure which you own? The model name is printed on the rack arm. If yours is a T2 but you can't tell Pro from Classic, send us a photo and we'll tell you.

Need your plate seen too? The Bike Rack License Plate Holder – Pivoting is made for the Thule T2 Classic and the T2 Pro. It works on its own, so you don’t need a Kody light with it.

Choosing your size

Our sizes describe the light fixture, not the rack.

Small — one 16" bar with sequential turn signals.
Medium — two 12" or 13" lights.
Large — two 16" lights.

For one or two bikes, Small is the clean choice. Running four on a T2 Pro, or carrying e-bikes, and the extra width and output of Medium or Large is worth having.

Two reasons to size up even on a two-bike rack. The Small bar shares its bulbs between the brake light and the turn signal, so braking overrides the signal — we suggest signalling before you brake. And reverse lights are only available on the double fixtures.

The EasyFold folds flat for storage, so if you fold and unfold it often, the pivoting mount is worth considering — it lets the light sit right in both positions.

Driving a Tesla or a newer Ford?

CChoose a Medium or a non-sequencing Large. Tesla and 2016-onward Ford electronics interfere with the sequential sweep, so a sequencing light won't animate properly on those vehicles. Everything still works, you just lose the animation. Here's what happens and the two ways to fix it.

Still running a T2 Classic?

You're not stranded. Thule has retired the Classic, but our brackets for it are still in production and we have no plans to stop. If you've had yours for years and it still holds bikes, it can still carry a Kody light.
