Kody Accessories and Spare Parts

Hardware, wiring and spares for Kody lights — plus a few things that just make life easier around a bike rack.

License plate holders lead the list below. If that's what brought you here, the license plate holder page has the same holders alongside the plate light and the cabling, and walks through which parts you need for which setup.

Mounting hardware

Most of what's here is about attaching a light to something we didn't design a bracket for, or attaching it more securely.

Voile straps in 12" and 15" are the quickest way to mount or move a light, and the strap keepers tidy up the loose tail. Stainless hose clamps are the permanent version — the 3" fits the QuikrStuff Mach2, the 4" fits the Kuat Sherpa, and they're sold singly so order the quantity you need.

The anti-theft brackets for the Mach2 work alongside straps or clamps rather than replacing them, and make the light considerably harder to walk off with. If you're running the long bracket for the bike ramp, check the note on that product page before ordering.

The extension plate buys you one to four inches of clearance between light and rack — useful if your bikes crowd the light, or if you run a bike cover. It fits the U-Bolt Universal, Hollywood and Swagman lights.

Wiring and connectors

Your vehicle has a 7-blade socket and the light has a 4-pin plug? The 7-way blade to 4-way flat adapter bridges them.

Cable won't reach? The 72" 4-way flat extension adds length without splicing anything.

Lights not working and you don't know why? The 4-way flat connector tester plugs into your vehicle's socket and shows you which circuits are live — tail, brake, left, right, ground. It tells you in thirty seconds whether the problem is your vehicle or the light, which is usually the question.

Newer Ford or a Tesla, and the light misbehaves? The signal relay box separates your vehicle's signals from the light so it works normally. It needs a 12V feed from the vehicle. Before you buy one, check what works on your vehicle — sometimes the answer is a different light rather than a relay. And if the symptom is flickering or a dash warning rather than a dead signal, here's what causes that.

Spares and replacements

Broke something, or want a backup? The double 16" and double medium light and cable sets are complete replacement fixtures with wiring. The friction hinge is the spare for our pivoting lights. The 3D-printed mount brackets let you fit a Kody light to a flat surface of your own making, with the cable routed out the back.

Can't tell what you need?

If you're staring at this list unsure which piece solves your problem, send us a message — a photo of your rack and connector answers most of these faster than any description. And if you haven't bought a light yet, start with the light made for your rack.
