Kody lights are the brightest and most durable on the market providing peace of mind when using your bike rack. The rugged, highly visible Kody Technologies dual 16-inch LED Rack Lights creates eye-catching tail, brake, and turn signals. The light integrates cleanly on your rack and uses a standard 4-pin trailer or 7-blade connector for easy installation.
Most photos on this product page show this light on a Thule Classic bike rack. Once we have more RockyMounts MonoRail photos we will update this page. On the MonoRail series, the light is mounted or sandwiched between the last bike tray and the main center beam of the rack (please see install instructions). This light is positioned at the end of the bike rack and sits past the last wheel lock arm. Please CONTACT US with any questions.
This rack light is designed specifically for RockyMounts MonoRail Series bike racks including the BackStage, HighNoon FC and MonoRail bike racks. On the HighNoon, the end cap needs to be removed or modified to fit with the light and there is an interference between the center beam welds to the tray mount and the light mount. The light can be installed with some additional spacers. Please contact us to discuss. This light will not fit on the Solo versions of these racks due to its length.

Be sure to check out our other RockyMounts Bike Rack Lights. This size is available with built-in reverse lights — choose "16" Lights with Reverse" and the seven blade connector. We also make a Small (a single 16" bar) and a Medium (two 12 to 13" lights). If you drive a Ford or a Tesla, choose one of the basic fixtures rather than the sequencing option.
This light separates the brake, turn and tail lights into independant left and right hand light fixtures. Each light fixture is 16" wide and provides bright, clear and visible signalling. The lights are installed on our custom heavy duty bracket for mounting to your bike rack. The total width of the lights and bracket is just under 33" wide.
This light pivots for use in both rack down with bikes loaded and rack up and stored positions. To position the light just loosen the clamps, pivot the light into the desired position and tighten the clamps.
Double 16" Light Options
There are three double 16" wide light fixture options available:
- Basic brake/turn/tail light, red lens
- Basic brake/turn/tail light with built in reverse, clear lens with red LEDs and white reverse lights
- Our original sequencing light, red lens
Each light option is very bright and will help you be seen on the road. Reverse light requires a seven blade trailer connector.
Vehicle Connections and Reverse Light
For this option, choose between a standard four pin and a standard seven blade connectors. The four pin connection powers tail lights (including plate lights if added), turn signals and brake lights. Upgrading to the seven blade option adds a heavier duty cable, the seven pin connector and licence plate light connector (we call it plate ready). Choose the correct connection to eliminate the need for adapters and prepare for future upgrades. Seven blade is required for reverse lights.
Cable Lengths
We provide three cable length options. The cable lengths include Short (70"), Long (112") and Extra Long (160"). The Short cable will work in most applications using a standard bike rack with up to four bike trays. Please see our FAQ page for information regarding how to select the right cable length for your rack set up.
License Plates
We have four options for plate holders and a plate light. Please see the list below to understand each option. For more information on our plate options please check out License Plate Holders and Plate Lights. The plate holder varies between the different main trailer light set up.
No Plate Accessory: I just want my light and nothing to do with any license plate holders.
Plate Light Ready: Adds a plate light electrical connection to the main cable, ready for a future plate light upgrade. No plate holder is included with this option. This option is included at no extra cost with the seven blade connection, which already carries the plate light connector.
Plate Holder - No Light: Plate holder with no electrical connection or light. This includes a bracket mounted to the main light which provides a license plate mounting location and plate mount hardware.
Plate Holder with Light: Plate holder with plate light. This includes the plate holder mentioned above as well as a second bracket to install the plate light, integrated cable wiring and the plate light.

Reviews
The reason for the 4star rating is that the mounting plate is just a little too thin. On my "BackStage" rack, the light bracket is in a very vulnerable location. During the mounting and unmounting of our first heavier E-bike, one has to be mindful of the inside pedal position. I place it at 12:00 to be able to see it clear the lights when loading or unloading. This reduces the chance of contact with the mounting plate. Our conversation on the phone about Kody Tech adding strengthening gussets is right on track. That will reduce or eliminate damage with the inevitable (accidental) contact with the bike. We are completely satisfied with the functionality and the peace of mind it brought during our first trip. I will send you a picture. Walt
I just got my new Kody lights to mate up to my RockMounts dual bike rack. I LOVE The new version of twin 16 inch strip lights versus the older single 16 inch strip I owned. These new dual strip work with my 2020 Ford Transit based RV with a 7 pin connection. The new version is more visable and there is no doubt anyone can see them from afar and know which direction I am signalling to turn to PLUS they have a white back up light......BONUS. These types of lights are MUST have cause my two e bikes cover up my RV signal lights and that makes me vunable to traffic from behind. Thanks John and Kody for solving the 7 pin Transit issues.
