This light is our medium sized light set which uses two brake, turn and tail lights for independent left and right hand signals. Each light fixture is 12 to 13" wide and provides bright, clear and visible signaling. The lights are mounted to our custom heavy duty bracket for mounting to your bike rack. The total width of the lights and bracket is just under 27" wide. All screws and mounting hardware are stainless steel.
The rugged, highly visible Kody Technologies dual 12-inch LED Rack Lights creates eye-catching tail, brake, and turn signals. The light integrates cleanly on your rack and uses standard 4-pin or 7-blade trailer connector for easy installation.
This rack light is designed specifically for the Thule T2 Pro bike racks. This light does not fit the original version of this rack built between February 2016 and January 2017. Check the serial label at the bottom of your rack for the manufacture date. The original rack design has a narrow tray adjustment width of 8" while the newer version were increased to 12". The tray adjustment bracket is the bracket welded to the rack's center beam where the bike tray attaches to the rack. The light can be modified to fit. Be sure to check out our other Thule Bike Rack Lights. This size is available with built-in reverse lights — choose "13" Lights with Built In Reverse" and the seven blade connector. Pivoting Light
The Pivot design allows you to rotate the light fixture for use in both the up / stored position as well as the down / bike loaded position. This light's pivot design uses a friction hinge and does not require any locking mechanism to hold it in place. To position the light just push or pull the light into the desired position.

Cable Lengths
We provide three cable length options. The cable lengths include Short (70"), Long (112") and Extra Long (160"). The Short cable will work in most applications using a standard bike rack with up to four bike trays. Please see our FAQ page for information regarding how to select the right cable length for your rack set up.
Vehicle Connections
For this option, choose between a standard four pin and a standard seven blade connectors. The four pin connection powers tail lights (including plate lights if added), turn signals and brake lights. Upgrading to the seven blade option adds a heavier duty cable, a seven pin connector which can power reverse lights and a licence plate light connector (we call it plate ready). Choose the correct connection to eliminate the need for adapters and prepare for future upgrades. Seven blade is required for reverse lights.
License Plates
We have four options for plate holders and a plate light. Please see the list below to understand each option.
No Plate Accessory: I just want my light and nothing to do with any license plate holders.
Plate Light Ready: Adds a plate light electrical connection to the main cable, ready for a future plate light upgrade. No plate holder is included with this option. This option is included at no extra cost with the seven blade connection, which already carries the plate light connector.
Plate Holder - No Light: Plate holder with no electrical connection or light. This includes a bracket mounted to the main light which provides a license plate mounting location and plate mount hardware.
Plate Holder with Light: Plate holder with plate light. This includes the plate holder mentioned above as well as a second bracket to install the plate light, integrated cable wiring and the plate light.
Plate Holder Caution – If the plate holder sits above your vehicle's height when stored, it can catch wind and cause the friction hinge to shift over time. Always ensure your rack is lower than your vehicle to prevent this issue.
Light Fixture Options
We offer two different medium sized light fixture options;
12" Basic brake/turn/tail light, with a red lens
13" Basic brake/turn/tail light with built in reverse, red lens for signals and white lens for reverse lights.
Each light option is very bright and guarantee you're seen on the road. Reverse light requires a seven blade trailer connector.

For the Thule T2 Pro, there is nothing better or anything that comes close to this product that is easy to install, is of high quality construction, and provides perfect electrical connections using my Volvo XC90 Recharge 7-blade socket. It works whether the rack is up or down due to the rotating friction hinge. Lights for driving, braking, hazard, signaling, and reverse, plus the 2- prong connection for the license plate light. No longer do I have to worry about other drivers seeing both my signaling intentions or my license plate. Very happy to have this product when I transport our bikes. Now, we are safer.

I did an extensive search for a product like this as the bike cover I use blocks the rear light assembly and my concern was getting rear ended damaging my bike, the bike rack, and car.
The Pivoting Double 12" Light turned out to be the perfect solution. It was easy to install by following Kody Technologies' installation video. John was very responsive to a couple questions I had prior to ordering it.

I am very pleased with the quality of this light. The installation was simple, especially with the included directions and link to video. I am especially glad that it works well with a bike bag covering our bicycles on the rack during rainy weather. The bike bag completely blocks the lights on our vehicle, and this addition will dramatically improve our safety. I would highly recommend this light!
I own a 2023 Tesla Model Y and a Thule XTR bike rack. After much searching I stumbled across the Kody double 12" light with backup lights and plate holder. I was worried the expense of the light unit wouldn't match the build quality but the build quality far exceeded my expectations. More importantly, it solves the dreaded 'Tow Mode' issue for the Tesla. I recommend this light unit for Tesla Model Y.
John is incredibly helpful, and responsive to feedback. The lights I got for my Thule T2 XTR Pro rack have worked flawlessly, and I feel SO MUCH better about my lights being more visible so drivers don't run into me and my expensive mtb! I appreciate that this is a small business, and John clearly takes pride in his work. Highly recommend!
