The rugged, highly visible Kody Technologies 16-inch LED Rack Light creates eye-catching tail, brake, and turn signals. The tail light turns on six of the twelve LEDs at partial brightness. The LEDs animate or sequence left or right for turn signals. And the brake light when activated turns on all LEDs to full brightness, overriding the turn signals. Check out this YouTube Video showing the light in action. The sequencing light does not play nicely with new Fords (2016+) and Teslas. We recommend going with a double light set up or reaching out to discuss.
This rack light is designed specifically for 1UP bike racks including the Quik Rack QR, Heavy Duty, Super Duty, Xtreme Duty and the hitch mount cargo carrier. It does not fit the Equip-D rack. Our lights can be used along side the 1Up EZ Pull plate and handle.

Be sure to check out our other 1Up Bike Rack Lights. We also make a Medium (two 12 to 13" lights) and a Large (two 16" lights). The doubles spread wider across the back of the rack, they're the sizes that offer built-in reverse lights, and they're what we'd point you to for a Tesla or a 2016-or-newer Ford.
Bracket Material
We have two bracket options; Black Powder Coated Steel or Clear Coat Anodized Natural Aluminum. The steel version is definitely more heavy duty than the aluminum version but the aluminum will match your 1Up rack if you have the natural aluminum rack.
Cable Lengths
We provide three cable length options. The cable lengths include Short (70"), Long (112") and Extra Long (160"). The Short cable will work in most applications using a standard bike rack with up to four bike trays. Please see our FAQ page for information regarding how to select the right cable length for your rack set up.
Vehicle's Connection
Choose between a standard Four Pin or Seven Blade trailer connector.
Four Pin: Powered by a standard flat 4-pin connection. Powers tail lights (including plate lights if added), turn signals and brake lights.
Seven Blade: Upgrades to a heavier duty cable and jacket, a 7-blade connector with 8 internal conductors. This creates a clean finish and eliminates the need for adapters.

Rigid or Pivoting Light
We offer both Rigid or Pivoting light options. A rigid light is primarily used with the bike rack in the down position for when bikes are loaded.
Pivoting Light
The Pivot design allows you to rotate the light fixture for use in both the up / stored position as well as the down / bike loaded position. We have two different pivot designs. One uses a friction hinge and does not require any locking mechanism to hold it in place. We recommend and ship this friction hinge on applications without license plate holders. To position the light just push or pull the light into the desired position.
The second design uses a mechanical hinge and thumb screw locks. We recommend and ship this design for all applications with license plate holders. To position the light just loosen the clamps, pivot the light into the desired position and tighten the clamps.
The pivot option might be substituted pending inventory availability. If you have questions regarding these pivots please reach out to us or check out our Pivoting FAQ. Also, if you prefer one design over the other please let us know and we can ship your preference.
License Plates
We have three options for plate holders and a plate light. Please see the list below to understand each option. For more information on our plate options please check out License Plate Holders and Plate Lights. The plate holder varies between the different main trailer light set up.
No Plate Accessory: I just want my light and nothing to do with any license plate holders.
Plate Light Ready: Adds a plate light electrical connection to the main cable, ready for a future plate light upgrade. No plate holder is included with this option. This option is included at no extra cost with the seven blade connection, which already carries the plate light connector.
Plate Holder - No Light: Plate holder with no electrical connection or light. This includes a bracket mounted to the main light which provides a license plate mounting location and plate mount hardware.
Plate Holder with Light: Plate holder with plate light. This includes the plate holder mentioned above as well as a second bracket to install the plate light, integrated cable wiring and the plate light.
Configuration and Pricing Note: The total light set up pricing will not populate or update until you have made a selection for all options. Once the selections are completed and the price is updated you can adjust your selections one at a time to see how the price varies.

I was driving to one of my local trails with my fat bike loaded on my 1UP. Sitting at a stop light, I had another motorist roll down his window to tell me that my tail lights were obscured by my bike. After hearing this, I went on the hunt for a solution. Internet led me to Kody Technologies, and I'm glad it did! This is a high quality build with a fantastic powder coat finish. Light performs flawlessly and is wonderfully bright. I went with the short (5 ft.) power cable. The power cable feels stout and up to the task of harsh weather conditions, and is plenty long enough for my single and Double add on 1UP configuration. I like that it comes with additional bolts for my 1UP rack since my add on rack didn't come with additional add on bolts. This lets me use it for a single or double bike carry. It's nice having peace of mind with the additional lighting. Overall, I'm very please with the light and I highly recommend.
A rider at one of my local trails in Granite Bay, CA saw that I have a 1Up rack on the back of my Subaru Legacy. He asked me if I had heard of KODY lights. I hadn't heard of them. I had my rack for some time and I was in the market for a suitable light. The rider demo'd the light. I was very impressed with the function of the KODY light. I ordered one that day. Shipping was quick. Installation is quicker. It comes with everything you need for installation. I decided to use the security bolts that came with my 1UP add-on rack. There is plenty of cable to accommodate up to three bikes. I usually transport one. I wrapped the extra cable around the hitch and secured it. The cable simply plugs into the 4 wire flat plug that is standard for most trailers. The LED lens is designed to allow the lights to still function in the up position. Overall I am very satisfied.
Fantastic construction! Clearly the highest quality components have been used here, and it it simple and effective. Plenty of zip ties are included (I ordered the 9' cable side just to be safe (and it was too much, haha), and this allowed me to tie up the slack nicely.
Visibility is excellent, and the installation took 30 minutes including the zip ties, and making it look neat.
Also, can I say, a hand written note thanking me for the purchase? Very nice touch, and very rare these days.

This is an exceptionally sturdy and well designed light. I purchased mine for my heavy duty 1Up bike rack. It was a very easy install and came with everything needed including mounting bolts and zip ties for the cord. It is bright, works well and provides great visibility to the rack. Kody Tech was very responsive to my questions and this was a standout purchase experience. I added a 3D printed plug cover to keep the plug clean when the rack is off my truck. Very happy with this light!
I had looked at this product for my 1UP bike rack but was a little turned off by the price. After having a friend follow me on a trip and telling me they couldn’t see my turn signals or brake lights I decided to buy it. This was definitely worth the price! It is extremely well made, very bright, and looks great on the rack! I feel much better knowing people can now see me while my bikes are on the truck! I would recommend this to anyone wanting a quality light!
